Concept and definition

CSV file

What is CSV file?

CSV stands for "Comma-Separated Values" and refers to a plain text file format used to store and exchange tabular data.

In artificial intelligence and machine learning, CSV files are commonly used to store data sets that will be used to train machine learning models. The data is usually organised in rows and columns, where each column represents a variable or feature of the dataset and each row represents an instance or example.

CSV files can be opened and manipulated with a variety of programs and programming languages, making them very popular for data exchange and collaboration in artificial intelligence and machine learning projects.
