Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on the automated processing and analysis of human language. It is a multidisciplinary field that combines techniques from linguistics, computer science, statistics and machine learning to analyse, understand and generate human language.
The goal of natural language recognition is to enable machines to understand human language and communicate effectively with humans. Some of the common uses of NLP include sentiment analysis, machine translation, automatic text summarisation, text generation and speech recognition.
To achieve these goals, NLP models use a variety of techniques and algorithms, such as natural language processing, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, text classification and feature extraction. Natural language recognition has advanced significantly over the last decades, and today it is used in a wide variety of applications, from chatbots and virtual assistants to social network sentiment analysis and personalised recommendation systems.
