What is Brain-Computer Interface - BCI?

Brain-computer interface (BCI) is a technology that allows direct communication between the human brain and an external electronic device, such as a computer or prosthesis, without the need to use muscles or the peripheral nervous system. This is achieved through the detection of electrical or chemical signals in the brain, which can be translated into actions or commands for the external device.

BCIs have been developed in a variety of applications, including assisting people with motor disabilities, rehabilitation after brain injuries, scientific research and, in some cases, improving cognitive skills and mental performance. More advanced applications are also being explored, such as direct communication between human brains or connecting the human mind to artificial intelligence.

Although BCIs are still at an early stage of development, they have the potential to transform the way we interact with technology and the world around us.
