General artificial intelligence

What is General artificial intelligence?

General artificial intelligence, also known as strong artificial intelligence, refers to the theoretical ability of a machine to perform any intellectual task that a human being can perform. General artificial intelligence involves the development of a machine that can learn, reason, plan and adapt to new and unfamiliar situations autonomously, without needing to be specifically programmed to perform a given task. Today, general artificial intelligence remains a research and development goal in the artificial intelligence scientific community, and its realisation is expected to have profound and far-reaching implications in a wide variety of fields, such as medicine, engineering, science and economics.
