Software as a Service (SaaS)

Concept and definition

Software as a Service (SaaS)

What is Software as a Service (SaaS)?

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a software distribution model in which a company provides access to an application over a network, usually the Internet. In this model, the software is owned by the provider and runs on its servers, which means that customers do not have to worry about maintaining and updating the software. Customers can access the application through an online user interface and pay for it on a monthly or annual subscription model. The SaaS model is common in the enterprise software industry and is also increasingly used in other areas, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
