Cloud computing

Concept and definition

Cloud computing

What is Cloud computing?

Cloud computing is a model for delivering information technology (IT) services over the internet. Instead of having IT resources (such as servers, storage, databases and software) on an organisation's premises, these resources are provided as an online service through the cloud.

Cloud computing allows organisations to access IT resources in a flexible and scalable way, without having to worry about managing and maintaining the underlying infrastructure. Cloud service providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, offer different types of cloud services, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).

Cloud computing is widely used in artificial intelligence and machine learning, as these fields require a large amount of processing and storage resources. Cloud services allow researchers and developers to access the processing power and storage needed to run machine learning algorithms and train artificial intelligence models.

In addition, cloud computing enables the deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications on a large scale, making it easier to deliver cloud-based solutions to a wide audience.
